Dr. Routman joined
Atlantis Orthopaedics
in 2001. His clinical practice specializes in the management of all aspects of
conditions that affect the shoulder. His academic activities include
research efforts that also focus on the shoulder.
Dr. Routman has lectured locally, regionally and nationally on
shoulder topics and has directed and participated
in many didactic and practical courses to train
Orthopaedic surgeons
in the methods for
shoulder diagnosis and the techniques for non-operative
and operative treatment. Dr. Routman’s current emphasis for
surgical treatment is in
minimally-invasive arthroscopic shoulder surgery
techniques.
After graduating from the University of Florida,
Dr. Routman attended
Nova-Southeastern University Medical School and graduated with highest honors. He
entered training at Ohio University’s Doctor’s Hospital in Columbus,
Ohio for Internship, and completed his Orthopaedic Surgical training at the Philadelphia
College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he was selected Chief Resident, overseeing
a sixteen resident program. This training was under John J. McPhilemy, D.O., the
team physician for the Philadelphia 76’ers Basketball Club, and
Dr. Routman
had the opportunity to spend time working with the team as well as an Assistant
Team Physician.
